Stafford County Public Schools has a program designed to prepare our students for the future by instilling in them, positive character traits. The Community Citizenship Education Program includes a "Word of the Month Program" that uses a different word each month that espouses these good citizenship traits.

Education about character and citizenship is integrated into our classroom instruction and school activities when appropriate and relevant. In my class, we talk about the meaning and significance of the word of the month and, as an activity that reinforces student writing skills, I have them write something about what the word means to them.
