Honesty

Honesty is ...

Telling the truth.
Sharing information that is important.
Returning what you borrow.
Keeping your promises.

The following are some thoughts from our class on what honesty means to them.

My bus was called and I was in a hurry. I had my assignment in my backpack. I ran out the door and went onto the bus but I did not know that I forgot my reading book. My babysitter picked my brother and me at the the bus stop. I called my Mom to tell her I got home and everybody did their homework. I looked in my book bag and did not have my reading book. After a while my Dad came and started to cook and after a while my Mom came home. She told me to do my home work and I said I did not have it in my back pack.

I was honest when I forgot my homework at my old school. When my math teacher asked if I had my homework I said: ummm ... I think I left it at home. She said she needed a yes or no answer. Finally I said I forgot to do it.

I got a piece of gum and I didn't ask. So when my Mom asked where the gum was ... I said I ate it.

I was honest when I broke the glass cup when I dropped it. I told my Mom and Dad and they where a little mad but they still loved me. I told them that I was never going to break glass again because it's dangerous and maybe if I do it again I might get cut or hurt.

When I borrowed a toy I lost it on accident. My friend said it was ok because I told the truth and she said I have another one anyway.

I was honest by telling the truth. I told the truth by saying I did it. I broke a plate last night and I was honest to my sister.
