WASHINGTON, DC - U.S. Senator Chuck Robb (D-Va) announced
today that a Web site created by Mrs. Bogucki's third grade
class at Anne E. Moncure Elementary School in Stafford has
been named the August "Site of the Month." Each month, Sen.
Robb highlights new and innovative Virginia Web sites by
linking these sites to his own Web page (www.robb.senate.gov).
The sites of the month focus on educational, governmental and
other nonprofit organizations with a presence on the Web.
"The Internet has transformed the way people communicate and
has expanded access to information worldwide," Sen. Robb said.
"I commend Mrs. Bogucki and her third grade class for bringing
the Internet into their classroom and making technology part
of their daily routine."
Mrs. Bogucki's class Web site features everything that both her
students and their parents need to know about what is going on
at the school and in the classroom. The site includes links to
such pages as: homework, calendar of events, student of the
week, as well as teacher resources. The site has won various
awards including twice being named the Best Teachers Resource
Web Site from the Virginia Society for Technology in Education.
Again congratulations on both being selected as my Site of the
Month and on your outstanding use of the Internet as demonstrated
at your web site.

Dear Mrs. Bogucki,
My name is Melissa Burgos and I am the editor of
http://www.4teachers.org/
which is a Web magazine for teachers striving to integrate
technology into education. Web for teachers is a project
that is part of SCR*TEC, a federally funded grant to integrate
technology and education in the south central region including;
Texas, Missouri, Kansas, Nebraska, and Oklahoma.
One of the features in www4teachers is called Class
Collections. In this section, we feature outstanding
teacher-created sites that serve as useful resources to other
educators.
We recently reviewed your Room 35 third grade class
homepage and are extremely impressed! It is an excellent
resource. I was wondering if we could feature your classroom
site in our next issue for Class Collections.
